Dim Sum with Andy, Siwei and Eevee

Andy, Siwei and Eevee are visiting from Yokosuka, Japan. So we met up for some dim sum in Flushing.

Evelyn, aka Eevee, was born 3 days before Emma even though their due dates were about 2 weeks apart.

Emma just went right to Andy. I think she wants to be close to Eevee.

Bo Bo stopped by after work to see Emma.

Dinner at the Kwoks

Mrs. Kwok and his daughter-in-law, Angelica, made empanadas and cachapas. They were very yummy! Look at the "adults" already at it, playing a friendly game of mahjong.

Emma was very clingy probably because she was really tired.

Mrs. Kwok was so happy to see Emma and Kirsten!

Emma fell asleep on the walker possibly due our hectic schedule for the past couple of days or just trying to get adjust to the 3 hurs time difference.

Isn't she cute?

Emma's Birthday Part 2

Steve, Lisa and the girls came to NYC after Melodie's dance recital to celebrate Emma's 1st birthday with us.

Another baby, Lisa?

Uncle Steve holding Emma while I try to feed her a piece of her birthday cake but she seems more interested in the ceiling fan.

Chevo came to NYC for a visit right before he was shipped to the Middle East.

Emma's 1st Birthday

It was a really hectic day. We had to go pick up my DD214 (a sheet of paper that says I am honorably discharged from the Navy), get my new reserve/dependent ID cards, get Emma's 12 months old immunizations, and leave for NYC so we could get back in time for Katy's graduation ceremony. So we celebrated her birthday right before we left for the airport.

We had to wake her up fom her nap which explained her "hairdo".

On the Kitsap Airporter shuttle to SEATAC airport.

Award Ceremony

I received my first (and probably my last) Navy Commendation Medal as my end of tour award. Grandma and Emma came to support me. How sweet of them!

Grandma was hoping to get the flags in the background but I guess she trusted the wrong photographer (i.e. me!)

We bumped into Erica and she couldn't believe how big Emma had gotten! By the way, for those of you who don't remember, Erica is one of my friends who has attended the birth of Emma. In fact, Emma didn't want to come back with me. She wanted to stay with Erica...that little girl!

Grandma fell in love with the view. The new wing in Naval Hospital Bremerton faces the Puget Sound. Pretty nice, huh?

Happy Mother's Day

We invited the Bradys to join us for the Naval Submaine Base Bangor Mother's Day Brunch.

We had some good food but nothing compared to the New Sanno Brunch in Tokyo, Japan.

She stayed the night at our townhome so she could come along for the brunch.

Grandma Long received a framed picture of her and Emma from the little golden piggy and the flowers were from her friend's daughter.

Emma and Mimi

We were invited by Mrs. Tsang (Grandma Long's friend from Vietnam: the one in red) to her daughter's home in Kent (North of Seattle) for some very excellent Vietnamese food.

Look how excited Emma was when she met Mimi (the dog of the daughter).

Emma and the Ghetto Baby Gate

Emma has successfully crossed the barricade Grandma Long has created to prevent her from climbing the stairs without supervision.

Emma on Top of the Dirty Laundry

I think she is trying to tell us that she needs a bath or something.

Emma's Newest Toys

Maybe she's trying to say something to her daddy... (I know it's hard to believe that Emma is in layers of clothes but please know that Bremerton has been in the lower 40s early May.)

Emma's Reading Preference

I apologize for taking so long to update Emma's website. My old laptop died on me so I was unable to perform my webmaster duty. But now that Chevo has purchased a new state of the art machinery for me I will no longer have any excuses. Please visit often for the lastest on our little girl. Thank you, Jess.

She is checking out the view outside of our townhome in Bremerton.

Look what Emma loves to read as well: 老夫子! (Old Master Q - my favorite Chinese comic strip)

Going...Going...Gone...

She was trying to climb up the tote but quickly sat down when she saw me.

Emma the stairs climber.

She seemed to have learned how to do this overnight!

Look at her go!

She climbed the whole way up to the 2nd floor!

Ta-da! Playing with grandma's hamper upstairs.
