Locker Room

We went swimming on base to get her used to being in the pool for her swim class on Tuesday.

After I changed her out of her wet swimsuit and got myself ready, she disappeared!

It didn't take too long to find her since she was mumbling the whole time.

She wanted me to let her close the locker door...

Another Day With May & Kam

She started posing after May put the tiara on her.

She just went up to give Kam a big hug when I told her to say bye bye. Kam didn't seem to be enjoying it though...

Hanging Out With Ji Soo & The Lewis

Jan and Paul's neighbor has tons of lemon trees in the adjacent property.

Ji Soo said that the neighbor wouldn't mind if we picked "some" so we did!

The lemons we picked to make fresh lemonade. We picked so many of them that we ended up giving some to May Lewis and bringing 4 of them back with us to WA.

All the lemons I used.

The end product...it was very refreshing.

Emma was playing with Avery's scouter.

But all she wanted was for me to push her around on it.

She loved the swing on their front patio.

The view from the swing...

She loves their house. In fact, she didn't want to leave and was crying as we pulled out of the driveway the day before when we dropped off Ji Soo after we went shopping at Carlsbad outlet. By the way, Ji Soo went crazy again at the Coach store. Let me just say that she single-handedly secured my brother's job.

She was enjoying life!

She was bustin' a move and for a second there, I thought she would start break dancing!

May was a patient at the pharmacy in Yokosuka where I used to work. We started talking when she saw my maiden name (Wong) which was hers as well. We've stayed friend ever since.

She found Kam's backpack and just put in on herself.

Playing with Kam's Little People's car wash.

She kept following Kam around.

Then she played with Kam's Cars Doodle board.

I first met him when he was a little baby less than a year old. Now he is 5 and almost as tall as May!

We went to Outback for dinner after Ernest got home from work.

May and Emma.

She wanted to play "ashes ashes" (that's what she calls "Ring Around the Rosie") with them in the parking lot...so funny!

Memorial Day BBQ

Ji Soo was in San Diego at the same time as we were (she planned it this way) and Jan, the friend she was staying with, invited us to a Memorial Day BBQ at their beautiful home in Escondido (about an hour away from Downtown San Diego).

Emma enjoyed her ride on the Radio Flyer.

Jan and Paul has a 3 years old girl named Avery so their home is like a kid's palace with everything imaginable (swimming pool, tent, sandbox, Thomas the Engine train table, keyboard, kitchen set, bubble blower, etc.)!

She was trying on one of the kids' sunglasses.

She enjoyed playing in the sandbox but she still wouldn't take off her shoes.

She was playing with one of Avery's classmate, Dylan.

The older kids that Emma wanted to play with: (from left to right) Matthew, Dylan, Avery and Michael.

She really loved being chauffeured around in the Radio Flyer.

Having some snacks (Goldfish and blueberries) with her little friend, Savannah.

Emma: "What's wrong? Why the sad face?"
Savannah: "You don't like to share, do you?"

Getting ready to head back to the downtown since it was going to be a bit of a drive.

Lunch And Dessert With Allan & Valerie

Emma was rearranging the eating utensil holders at a Thai restaurant in Hillcrest.
She liked her lemon water.

We met up with Allan and his girlfriend, Valerie, for lunch. Allan is a friend from Yokosuka who is currently on his 3rd year of pathology residency in Naval Hospital San Diego and Valerie is an accountant.

Our group picture.

After lunch, we headed over to Extraordinary Desserts that was highly recommended by Allan's colleagues and on our way there we saw a Geico skywriting/sky smoke ad. It was pretty cool!

This one was mine, Passion Fruit Pavlova, which mainly consisted of a meringue with passion fruit flavored custard inside topped with fresh fruits. It was very yummy!

This was Valerie's but I forgot the name. It was a chocolate cake with fresh raspberry and raspberry sauce. Emma had a bite and she seemed to have liked it.

Allan had the lemon cupcake.

Daddy had a brownie but I didn't tried it since mine was huge. In fact, he had to helped me with mine.

We all shared with her but she was more interested in playing with rocks they had in the patio area. Of course she was also playing with her new panda daddy got from the conference.

The 3 of us went to La Jolla beach just to check it out. It took us a good 20 minutes to find parking on a holiday weekend.

My baby was still hesitant when it came to walking on the beach barefooted.

So she pretty much stayed on the rock people-watching.

She was just taking in the beach scene.

Posing with mommy.

North County Mall

Playing with the curtain in our hotel room.

I had not brought any of her sippy/straw cups with us on this trip so the whole time she was drinking either directly from the bottle or using one of Starbucks' Venti cold drink straws.

We were waiting for daddy to get back from his 1st day at the conference so we could head out for lunch.

After lunch we decided to go shopping at the North County Mall (North of San Diego). They had this train ride going around the mall and Emma couldn't get her eyes off of it so we took her on board. Kind of pricey though at $3 per person including Emma.

It was very difficult to get a good picture of ourselves on the train since we were confined in a very small train cart. I had to put my hand out of the train in order to get this shot.

Daddy took this one.

We tried to get her to pose with the train engine but she would keep getting away.

So I had to pose with her.

We also stopped by the little playground they had at the mall.
