In Washington State, we automatically get a periodic mailing from CHILD Profile from birth and on. I think it's really cool and fun to read, because the mailings are sent according to your child's age. Anyway, the whole point is....... since some people still don't believe me when I say that Emma needs to do her exercises.....
From the 3 months mailing:
Give your baby plenty of "tummy time"

so now you know, and can't say I'm doing it just to torture her...
hahahaha

Your baby might develop a flat spot on her head from sleeping on her back. This is because her skull is very soft and her neck muscles are weak. The flattening will usually go away on its own. It will not affect your baby's brain or development.
Giving your baby plenty of "tummy time" when she is awake will help her avoid developing a flat spot. It is also good for her development. Hold her in your arms often. If your baby is breastfed, she gets switched from side to side as you move her from one breast to the other. If your baby is bottle fed, hold her on your right side for one feeding, the left side for the next.
