A Day in the Butchart Gardens

On our way into the Butchart Gardens.

Right outside of the gift shop.

The sign with a beautiful hanging basket at the entrance of the gardens.

Look at all the colors!

Christine with her very precious cargo.

She loved the hanging flower baskets.

The Sunken Garden.

The history of the gardens.

Water lily, one of my favorites.

Posing in front of one of the many water fountains/displays in the gardens.

The "trees" behind them may look like they are 2 different ones but actually they are just 2 branches of the same tree.

We were both ready for lunch.

After we'd all been fed.

These are my other favorite, dahlias. They are so pretty!

The arches in the Rose Garden.

My purple rose.

The Japanese Garden...but nothing compared to the ones we saw in Japan.

Christine was daydreaming and we thought we lost her.

A mandatory pose in front of a torii gate.

A close up of the beautiful dahlia.

Shitaki mushrooms? Or portobello, perhaps?

The hedge wall with a doorway, very cute.

Enjoying gelato at the end of our tour.

The gift shop sold this plant with names engraved on the leaves. Look at the display one, it's Emma! I should have gotten one but considering my not-so-green greenthumb, we'd probably never see them...

On the motorcoach to Downtown Victoria so we could catch our ferry back to the States.
